For 4th through 7th Graders:
Woodworking is great for learning how to work carefully and accurately, to follow directions, and to develop a love of labor. In this camp, we'll learn how to safely use basic woodworking hand tools to make some fun projects. After establishing shop rules, learning how to read a ruler, and practicing with each tool, we'll make some fun projects out of wood, like a ruler, a pencil holder, a spatula, and a planter box. Once the projects have been sanded and finished with a water-based topcoat (which is safe and VOC-free), students can take their creations home!
